Kabale University Education Students’ Association Hosts Collaborative Workshop with Global Teachers Association from Bishop Stuart University

The Kabale University Education Students’ Association (KUESA) held a vibrant and interactive workshop on 7th November 2025 at All Saints Hall, bringing together education students from Kabale University and the Global Teachers Association (GTA) of Bishop Stuart University (BSU). The event aimed to foster collaboration, professional exchange, and shared learning experiences among future educators.

The workshop commenced with a warm welcome to the visiting BSU students, who arrived at 11:00 AM and were received by KUESA members led by President Tindyebwa Allan and Patron Mr. Kahesi Johnson. The formal opening session began shortly after with a prayer led by KUESA Vice President Ms. Ainembabazi Diana, setting a reflective tone for the day’s discussions.

Representing the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Assoc. Prof. Akena F. Adyanga, the Associate Dean, Dr. Nampija Florence, officially opened the workshop and delivered an insightful presentation on “The Teaching Profession.” Her remarks highlighted the value of teaching as a vocation, emphasizing professional ethics, lifelong learning, and the role of teachers in shaping national development.

The visiting team’s Patron, Dr. Barigye Enock, also shared a thought-provoking presentation on the same theme, offering a comparative perspective that enriched the discussion. Both facilitators inspired the students to pursue excellence in their teaching careers and to view education as a transformative force in society.

Adding a lively and engaging touch to the day, participants from both universities competed in academic contests. KUESA emerged winners in the quiz competition, while GTA (BSU) took victory in the debate category, demonstrating the intellectual vibrancy and teamwork that defined the event. Although a friendly football match had been planned, it was postponed due to heavy rainfall later in the afternoon.

Messages of goodwill were shared by the patrons of both associations and by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, encouraging continued partnerships that strengthen student leadership and professional development across institutions.

Lunch, which was self-sponsored, provided a relaxed atmosphere for interaction and networking between the two groups. Despite the weather interruptions, the workshop concluded successfully, with participants departing at around 6:00 PM, inspired by the day’s experiences.

According to KUESA President Mr. Tindyebwa Allan, the engagement offered valuable lessons and strengthened ties between Kabale University and Bishop Stuart University. He expressed optimism that such collaborative platforms will continue to shape confident, innovative and community-minded teachers ready to serve Uganda’s education sector.
