Kabale University hosts Members of the Sectoral Committee on Education of the Parliament of Uganda
On Thursday, 22nd February 2018, Eighteen (18) Honourable Members of the Ugandan Parliament on the Sectoral Committee on Education visited Kabale University. The guests were led by their Chairperson, Hon. Nakayenze Connie Galiwango and the Vice Chairperson, Hon. Opolot Jacob Richards
The members were interested in getting first-hand information about the progress of Kabale University from the time the University metamorphosed from private to public status. They were interested in learning about achievements and knowing the challenges of the University, with regard to human resource, general funding, infrastructure development, student enrolment and quality assurance. The members held a very interactive and jovial session with the Management of the University, and the press. They toured the three Campuses of the University; at Kikungiri Main Campus, Nyabikoni (Engineering & Technology, Applied Design and Fine Art), and Makanga (Kabale University School of Medicine).
The MPs lauded the University for the good progress reported and observed. They appreciated the challenges, particularly in relation to infrastructure. Members further pledged to support Kabale University in the course of their work.
Management expressed appreciation to the Committee Members for their kind words, and their continual support. Management assured the MPs of their resolve to provide quality service and promised to take into account the very pertinent recommendations and guidance availed.
