Handover Ceremony of On-Campus Hult Prize Program

The founding team of Kabale University Hult Prize on-campus program led by the outgoing Director Mr. Dancun Bwengye handed over office to the new executive led by Mr. Igwali Michael Jackson. The handover ceremony was held on 6th February 2021 in the Boardroom. Mrs. Anny Katabaazi-Bwengye, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Finance & Administration was the guest of honor. While delivering her speech, Mrs. Bwengye encouraged members to think 150% and build Loyalty so as to succeed in life. She appreciated the outgoing Team members led by Bwengye Duncan and applauded them for setting the standard of promoting social entrepreneurship at Kabale University.
Professor Caleb Tamwesigyire, the patron of the Association welcomed members to the handover ceremony and briefly highlighted the objectives of the On-Campus Hult Prize Program at Kabale University.

While addressing the audience Mr. Bwengye Dancun the outgoing Director of the on Campus Hult Prize program highlighted the benefits of this program to students which include Developing Social capital, acquiring entrepreneurship skills and turning their ideas into scalable businesses. Mr, Bwengye called upon the newly elected leaders to look out for business ideas that will solve community problems.
The new Director Mr. Igwal Michael Jackson in his presentations he unveiled the team’s plans in preparation for the Regional Competitions scheduled to take place in Nairobi or Lusaka and called upon University Management for support. Mr. Igwali pledged to sensitize the entire student’s population such that they can be members of this on-campus Hult Prize Program

The acting Dean Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, Dr. Sunday Arthur commended the on Campus Hult Prize program team at KAB for their innovation and courage to introduce such ideas to the Administration and promised to make sure these ideas do not die in the heads but rather be implemented. He further said that the Faculty has plans of creating an Entrepreneurship incubation hub and these plans will be implemented soon.
The Founding Member of the On-Campus Hult Prize program Mr. Liberty Christopher thanked the outgoing team members for not letting him down. He further said that on Campus Hult Prize program is a global competition for University and College Students that aims at building scalable and market-driven social enterprises of which he said Kabale University students shouldn’t miss on such opportunities.
Canon Benon Kwikiriza while giving a vote of thanks, thanked students who are participating in the on Campus Hult prize program for representing the University very well and called upon other students to join the team.
