Death Announcement: Hon. Manzi Tumubweinee

On behalf of Kabale University Chancellor, Prof. G. M Kagonyera, the University Council, the Senate, staff and students, as well as the wider Kabale University community of Promoters, and on my own behalf, I wish to announce the very untimely death of the Chair, University Council, Hon Manzi Tumubweinee, which occurred on June 11^th 2021.

Hon. Manzi was a patriotic Ugandan, an excellent citizen, who not only helped his family and the community, to shine and thrive through dedicated service but also held his country at heart. Kabale University has enjoyed his wise counsel and basks in the fruits of his leadership for the six years that he has presided over the Council as Chair; before and after it became a public institution.

Among many other attributes, he instituted a strong team spirit in the Members of Council, he built a good rapport with all university stakeholders, and he mentored many in good leadership skills and taught us all the value of developing ourselves and our communities. We shall always cherish his etiquette that fitted in different situations. He was a God-sent Captain and selfless servant. Adieu! Hon. Manzi Tumubweinee, in God’s hands you now rest.

Our heartfelt condolences go to his family, relatives, friends, the people of Kigezi and Uganda.
