Kabale University Staff Receives Uganda’s Best Book of the year 2018 Award

The Book Forum of Uganda has given the Best Book of the Year Award to Ms Lillian Tindyebwa who is a Lecturer and the Director Institute of Languages at Kabale University for her novel, ‘’Recipe for Disaster”.

This novel is already recommended for lower secondary as a reader and is currently widely used in many secondary schools in Uganda. It touches on issues of peer pressure and has a message that every young person needs to understand in order to remain on the course of her/his destiny.

This novel is one of the many pieces she has written, including short stories. In a colorful ceremony held at Hotel Triangle in Kampala on 7th December 2018, a number of writers were awarded, basing on their areas of publication. Among those awarded was The first Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Hon. Janet Kataaha Museveni for her biography “My Life’s Journey”. Uganda book awards ceremony takes place once a year and it attracts writers from within and outside the country. The main aim is to reward those who have excelled in the field of writing and to encourage upcoming writers.
