According to Prof. Benon Basheka the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the University has a five-year strategic plan and one of the pillars in the plan is mobilising resources for research grants from outside. He said, it was now upon the University’s academic staff to organize itself and form teams in different forums and apply for these grants. Kabale University has so far joined the likes of Kenyatta University, Makerere University, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Uganda Christian University, Busitema University among others that so far have already subscribed to Research Beeline.

Joseph Njogu led the staff members through the research platform where he explicitly showed them different searches and opportunities they can go for and how they can narrow and widen their searches towards their interests hence increasing their chances of getting calls for research grants and funding.
