Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) trains Kabale University staff

Kabale University staff had a PPDA Training on 15th November 2017 at the Main Campus Kikungiri.

The Training was conducted by a PPDA Team led by Agnes Sera (Senior Auditor and Investigation Officer, PPDA Mbarara Branch).

The following Procurement Matters were addressed: Procurement Planning, Public Procurement Process, Roles and Stakeholders in the Public Procurement Process, Contract Management/Administration, Public Procurement Thresholds, Procurement Record Management, Framework Contracts, Disposal Process and Disposal Methods.

The Main purpose of the Training was to ensure that the Contracts Committee Members, Technical and Administrative staff acquire Public Procurement Knowledge and Skills in order to enable the achievement of efficient service delivery while upholding Procurement Values of Accountability, Transparency and Value for Money.

On behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Allen Babugura (the Deputy VC Finance and Administration) while opening the training session, he expressed gratitude towards the facilitators for the valuable work they do whenever they come to Kabale University. This was the second time coming to share knowledge with university staff on PPDA issues.

The University Secretary Mr. Baryantuma J. Munono also appreciated and thanked the training team for the knowledge, experience and skills shared with the participants. He emphasised the need for excellence in all sectors like teaching and training, accounting and financial management which can be achieved if well supplemented with excellent performance by the Procurement Unit.

The workshop was a one-day event organised and coordinated by the University Secretary‘s Office in collaboration with the University Procurement and Disposal Unit Staff: Twongyeirwe J. Bruce (Procurement Officer) and the Ms. Kobusingye Ruth (Assistant Procurement Officer).
