Prof. Joy C. Kwesiga Begins Faculty Farewell Visits, Celebrating a Legacy of Transformative Leadership

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joy C. Kwesiga, has commenced a series of visits to academic units across the University as part of her ongoing farewell engagements with staff ahead of the conclusion of her tenure. The visits provide an opportunity to personally appreciate members of staff for their dedication, commitment and unwavering support throughout her years of service, while reflecting on the remarkable journey and transformation of Kabale University under her leadership.

Throughout the engagements, staff from various faculties and institutes have paid glowing tribute to Prof. Joy Kwesiga, describing her as a visionary leader, mentor and mother figure whose leadership has left an enduring mark on the University. The interactions have been characterized by heartfelt reflections on institutional milestones, academic growth, staff development, research, innovation and the collaborative spirit that has shaped Kabale University into one of Uganda’s leading public universities.

The Vice Chancellor has, in turn, encouraged staff to continue investing in academic excellence, research, mentorship, teamwork and professional growth while expressing confidence that the University is well positioned to build upon the strong foundation established over the past two decades. Her engagements have reinforced a shared commitment to preserving the values, partnerships and culture of excellence that will continue to define Kabale University for generations to come.

The faculty visits have so far included the Kabale University School of Medicine (KABSOM), Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Technology, Applied Design and Fine Art, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Economics and Management Science, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Computing, Library and Information Science, Faculty of Law, the Institute of Language Studies and the Institute of Tourism and Hospitality.
