Kabale University is seeking to recruit dynamic and committed individuals to fill the positions of Teaching Assistants in the Faculty of Economics and Management Science; and Faculty of Engineering, Technology, Applied Design and Fine Art.

Job Purpose:
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting Senior Faculty Members in delivering quality instruction to undergraduate students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Senior Faculty Members in teaching, research, and administrative tasks.
• Conduct tutorials, seminars, and laboratory sessions
• Mark and grade assignments, tests, and examinations
• Support students in their academic pursuits and provide guidance and mentorship
• Engage in research activities and publish scholarly articles in reputable journals
• Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to the development of the curriculum

Requirements:

• Prospective applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least Second-Class Upper Division.
• Applicants must not exceed 35 years of age.
• Applicants must have graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Kabale University within the last three (3) years.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in Teams.
• Have strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in using modern technologies, computers and relevant software applications such as word, excel, PowerPoint etc.
• Prior teaching experience will be an added advantage.

Conditions for the Appointment as Teaching Assistant

• The Teaching Assistant will be appointed for a period of three (3) years renewable once subject to satisfactory performance.
• Once hired, the Teaching Assistants are considered as “staff on training”. Within the three years of tenure, the Teaching Assistant must show substantive progress for a Master’s Degree Program in the relevant field.
