KAB to receive support for the Business Incubation Center from the World Bank
A team from the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development has been at KAB to establish a partnership with the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences’ Business Incubation and Innovation Center.
This collaboration will be made possible through a World Bank-supported Project titled ‘Generating Growth Opportunities and Productivity for Women and Youth Enterprise in Uganda’.
According to Dr. Arthur Sunday, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management Sciences, the Ministry chose KAB due to its status as a community-based and public University. The decision was driven by the intention to establish a comprehensive training center and a shared facility for the Kigezi Sub-region.
“The support given by the World Bank is aimed at providing training and equipping women and young entrepreneurs with skills in various fields, including Business, Entrepreneurship, Tourism, Hospitality, Catering, ICT Innovations, Literacy, Agriculture, Engineering, Value Addition, Business Development, and more”, Dr. Sunday noted.
Eng. Michael Byaruhanga from the Ministry of Gender and Social Development noted that they were at KAB to map common-use infrastructure for the project under the World Bank.
