Assoc. Prof. Katusiimeh challenged the students that discipline and character are key to long-term success. He emphasized the importance of respecting parents and teachers to achieve success at their level.

In his motivational speech, Prof. Katusiimeh shared that despite his humble educational background, he has achieved success in his academic journey, obtaining various scholarships through hard work. He is currently an Associate Professor at Kabale University.

“From these very classrooms, I learned to dream big,” he said. “Today, I stand before you as a professor, a school director, a Fulbright Scholar, a former Vice Chancellor of Ankole Western University (a private university), and a former dean of faculty at a public university. All this started from here at Kashaka Girls. You can also achieve your greatest dreams starting from here,” he emphasized.

He encouraged the students to focus on their education, discipline, and personal growth, taking pride in their talents, as both are crucial in today’s competitive world. “I recall how I used to spend most of my A-Level holidays studying in the school’s classrooms while staying with my uncle, Mr. Moses Kamukama, a Fine Art teacher,” he noted.

He further emphasized the need for students to aim higher in all aspects of education by studying hard, being disciplined, honoring their parents for their work, and avoiding distractions that can lead to dropping out of school or failing exams. Students need to know their purpose in order to reach their target dreams. He also called upon them to be God-fearing, demonstrate integrity and self-respect, learn from every situation, and stay focused.

The Head Teacher, Mrs. Dorah Kiconco Barekye, thanked the students for their enthusiasm and participation, noting that co-curricular activities such as MDD play a critical role in nurturing confidence, creativity, and teamwork among learners. She reaffirmed the school’s commitment to holistic education.

Rev. Dr. Paul Kakooza, the Director of Education, applauded the school for its consistent academic and moral standards. He emphasized the role of faith, discipline, and values-based education in shaping responsible and successful young women society.

Students thrilled the audience with energetic cultural dances, dramatic performances, and musical presentations, reflecting both Uganda’s rich cultural heritage and the creativity of the learners.

Kashaka Girls Secondary School came alive with music, dance, and drama as students showcased their talents during the school’s annual MDD competitions, an event that served as a platform for inspiration, mentorship, and community celebration.

This event marked the development of Kashaka Girls Secondary School in both academics and talent development. The competitions have helped students to expose and discover their talents, leaving behind a strong message of ambition, discipline, and hope among them.
