Kabale University Hosts 7th Edition of Open Volleyball Tournament
The 7th Open Volleyball Tournament was held at Kabale University. Teams from all around the nation came together for the competition. Participants competed in a variety of categories, including Corporates, Schools, Clubs, and Institutions, from April 20 to April 21, 2024.
In the female category, St. Elizabeth Girls’ School-Mbarara emerged as the champions, triumphing over Kabale University ladies with a score of 3 sets to 1. Meanwhile, in the male category, Kabale Youth Volleyball Club (KYVC) closed the title after a hard-fought battle against Ntungamo Volleyball Club, securing victory with a score of 3 sets to 1.
The Corporates category saw an intense showdown between Kasana SACCO and Volleyball Referees, with Kasana SACCO emerging victorious and claiming the title.
Among the teams that participated in the tournament were St. Augustine Seminary Ntungamo, Ntungamo Volleyball Club (Ntonda), Team Akooki, BSU ladies and boys, Kabale Youth Volleyball Club (KYVC) ladies and boys, Kabale University ladies and boys, Kasana SACCO, KYVC veterans, and Volleyball Referees.
The closing ceremony of the tournament was graced by the presence of Ms. Prossy Mukasa Nakidde, the University Warden, who represented the Dean of Students. Her attendance added a touch of honor to the event, highlighting the university’s commitment to developing and nurturing a vibrant sports culture and promoting excellence both on and off the field.
