Kabale University staff participate in Low Power Wide Area Network(LPWAN) Solutions for the Internet workshop

Kabale University staff Dr.Businge Phelix Mbabazi Faculty Dean of Computing, Library and Information Science and Mr. Nambimanya Daniel from the Department of Information Technology and Computer Science participated in LPWAN Solutions for the Internet of Things workshop which took place from 17th to 21st Feb 2020.

The Workshop attracted 30 participants from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Mozambique. The workshop was hosted at Makerere University, Uganda and facilitated by International Center of Theoretical Physics(ICTP) with
co-sponsors: Internet Society, Makerere University, UbuntuNet Alliance for Research & Education Networking, Research & Education Network for Uganda, Kenya Education Network, The Mozambique Research & Education Network, Tanzania Education & Research Network, Network Startup Resource Center.

Topics include

  • Wireless Solutions for IoT
  • LaRa and LoRaWAN protocols
  • Prototyping of sensor boards
  • Planning & deployment of LPWAN network etc.
